Parker's Basketball Team

The After School Sports Basketball team has been working very hard on learning all of the rules of the game and a variety of plays to become successful. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday we practice and have 3 more games scheduled. Lets go Parker!











K-1

The K-1 class have been focusing on hand eye coordination by dribbling a basketball and throwing and catching. They also have been learning ways to stay active by dancing.

Throwing & Catching

2-5 grades have been working on throwing and catching. This is a skill that is needed for most sports. Hand-eye coordination is something that can be improved with practice.











Team Handball

The middle school is learning the game Team Handball. This is a fast paced game with a lot of passing and teamwork.

The Middle School is just finishing up a Basketball Unit. We worked on all the basic skills and learned how to play the game properly. They also did great with sportsmanship and teamwork.

4-5's

The 4-5 class has been working on hand eye coordination by playing basketball. We have been working really hard on our basketball dribbling skills.

2-3's

The 2-3 class has been working on foot eye coordination. Controlling a Soccer Ball without using their hands is something that the 2-3's have been working really hard on. We have been practicing these skills by playing Soccer Shipwreck, Keep Away, and Knockout. These games help the class have better ball handling skills.

Pre-K

The Pre-K have been working really hard in PE class. We have been practicing all of our locomotor skills and learning spacing awareness. The Pre-K also have been working on throwing skills by playing a game called Clean Your Room.

Health

The 2-3 health class have been learning a lot about nutrition and what food choices are healthy. Today we talked about what our favorite foods are and how nutritious these food are.

Physical Education

Parker's trails make PE class so exciting. Being able to hike beautiful well maintained trails make the students really appreciate the property we have access to everyday. This Also gives the students ways to learn life long physical activities.

K-1 & 2-3

K-1's and 2-3's really enjoy the Soccer Shipwreck game. This game focuses on ball control and helps students gain more foot eye coordination. The best Shipwreck Command is "Seasick" this command make the crew on the ship get "seasick". The kids really have some fun with this game.
